Abortion
Considering Abortion?
If you recently took a pregnancy test and it was positive, we are here to help you weigh your options. Many women’s first instinct is abortion, however, it’s important to have complete and accurate information about having an abortion before making a decision.
Before deciding to have an abortion, it’s important to consider the following questions:
- How far along are you?
- Is your pregnancy intrauterine (located inside the uterus)?
- Is your pregnancy viable (a heartbeat can be detected and it is progressing normally)?
- Are you at risk for natural miscarriage?
- Do you have a tubal pregnancy requiring immediate medical attention?
- What are the different abortion procedures and for which do you qualify?
- What are the differences between medical and surgical abortions?
- Are there any short-term or long-term risks you should consider?
- Is someone pressuring you to terminate your pregnancy?
If you don’t have solid answers to each of these questions, contact us so that we can provide you with the information and support you need.
What is my first step if I am considering abortion?
It’s important to understand that you do not have to face this alone. We see hundreds of women every year who find themselves in a similar situation, and we are here for you too! Before deciding on abortion, it is important that you gather some information. Your first step is to confirm your pregnancy. Contact us for a free and confidential pregnancy test at our center. If our lab-quality test also produces a positive result, we can provide you with a free ultrasound, which medically confirms your pregnancy. An ultrasound detects a heartbeat and pinpoints gestational age, as well as determining whether the pregnancy is viable or might be at risk for a natural miscarriage. This is all information you will need to make the best decision possible for yourself.
Although we do not perform or refer for abortions, we do offer a safe, confidential environment for you to ask questions about your pregnancy, receive accurate and current information, and talk without judgement about your concerns. Our desire is to provide you with ALL the information you need to help you make a thoughtful, informed decision about your situation.
